Introduction to Psychosocial Care

This course introduces the learner to the Building Capacity in Psychosocial and Hopeful Care Learning and Knowledge Translation Program. It is the first in a series of 8 modules that comprise the learning program.

Interprofessional Collaborative Care

This course introduces the goals of interprofessional collaboration, the elements that make up an effective team and provide healthcare providers with the opportunity to reflect on collaborative interprofessional practice within a psychosocial care context. It is the second in a series of 8 modules that comprise the Building Capacity in Psychosocial and Hopeful Care Learning and Knowledge Translation Program.

Self-Care for Healthcare Providers

This course addresses the signs of stress and burnout as well as strategies to assist healthcare providers in tackling stress and preventing burnout. It is the third in a series of 8 modules that comprise the Building Capacity in Psychosocial and Hopeful Care Learning and Knowledge Translation Program.

Impact of Stroke on Psychosocial Health and Well-Being

This course addresses the psychosocial impact of stroke. It helps healthcare providers recognize the psychological and emotional responses following stroke, identify the different aspects of emotional adjustment, and Strategies to support the person with stroke and their family/caregiver will be introduced. It is the fourth in a series of 8 modules that comprise the Building Capacity in Psychosocial and Hopeful Care Learning and Knowledge Translation Program.

Co-creating Hope

This course supports healthcare providers in their understanding of the concept of hope, how to recognize personal biases in providing hopeful care, what factors inhibit hope and what strategies foster it. It is the fifth in a series of 8 modules that comprise the Building Capacity in Psychosocial and Hopeful Care Learning and Knowledge Translation Program.

Establishing Rapport

This course addresses the elements, techniques and strategies that contribute to building a positive therapeutic relationship. It is the sixth in a series of 8 modules that comprise the Building Capacity in Psychosocial and Hopeful Care Learning and Knowledge Translation Program.

Effective Therapeutic Communication

This course describes a variety of core techniques for effective, personalized communication to support psychosocial health and well-being. It is the seventh in a series of 8 modules that comprise the Building Capacity in Psychosocial and Hopeful Care Learning and Knowledge Translation Program.

Building Resiliency

This course supports healthcare providers in eliciting strengths, problem solving abilities and meaningful goal setting that will promote active engagement of the person with stroke in their recovery and resilience. It is the eigth in a series of 8 modules that comprise the Building Capacity in Psychosocial and Hopeful Care Learning and Knowledge Translation Program.
